A Daddy~Daughter Banquet

In a couple days, my girls should get the following invitation in the mail:

5x7 Folded Card
View the entire collection of cards.
Shh... This is a surprise for my girls. I am partnering with one of my best friends in the whole world to honor the girls that God has given each of us (I only have two - he, however, has five!). We want to let these beautiful, precious females know in a special way that they are loved by God AND loved by their daddies.

Thanks go out to Andrea for her free design that allowed me to create something I know each of the girls will love.  And thanks to Shutterfly for making the printing & mailing a cinch (since I am short on time these days).

Family Fun at Fritz's

(download)

Thanks to the Christmas generosity of some friends, the Birdnest was able to make a fun memory at Fritz's in Crown Center.  This Kansas City burger joint has a railroad theme - complete with food delivery by train! (See the video below to see how our food was brought to our table.) While the food wasn't anything to write about, the atmosphere and time together as a family made this a really fun event.

Bird Family Christmas Eve Morning

Our family celebrated Jesus' birthday today.  We started with a breakfast of cinnamon rolls sitting on the living room floor.  We then read the Christmas story from Luke 2 before opening presents from the Grandparents.  The Mom and I then enjoyed watching our kids give gifts to one another and realize the thought that they had put into their gifts for each other (and for us!).  Then after reading the story of the Magi from Matthew 2, the Mom and I kept our family tradition of giving the kids gifts of gold, incense, and myrrh.  (The myrrh one we gave away once again.)

We then gathered with the Restore church family in Liberty for a wonderful Christmas Eve service where we celebrated the greatest miracle of all - Jesus.  It was a great way to cap off a fantastic day!

Merry Christmas from the Non-Angry Birds!

Here is the annual Bird Family Christmas Letter for 2011.  This year's theme - Angry Birds and overcoming challenges (which 2011 had a lot of... and... 2012 has waiting for us).  Hope you enjoy it!

All this for one photo...

The Grandparents have been requesting a photo of our four kiddos, so today we attempted to capture one photo that we could send to them.  I (the Dad) thought, "Now that our kids are older, this won't be a very big deal."  I mean, how hard is it to get four awesome kids to flash their beautiful smiles?

Oh, how wrong I was.
